Animation
Students from Lutterworth College brought the tragic tale of would-be aviator Percy Pilcher to life in the dramatic setting of 17th century Stanford Hall.
Under the guidance of illustrator Liz Anelli and animator Sarra Hornby, they embarked upon a day of observational and interpretive drawings, audio and live action recording. Back at the school, they compiled their visual imagery to create fantastic 3D models – of the library, ballroom, the dining and sitting rooms. They then developed each section of the narrative by storyboarding and voice recording. The scale models become film sets and, with additional stop motion animation, and stills of drawings are spliced together to create the 8minute drama.
