Big Draw @ Kew 2009
Cabinet of Curiosities
Liz ran one of the nine Big Draw workshops at this year’s Autumn Festival.
Inspired by Kew’s world-famous Herbarium, and with the help of Kew expert Dr Lauren Gardiner, participants filled matchbox sized drawers with small and precious artistic responses to trees, including textured rubbings, collage, drawing, 3D models, and illustrated poems. The resulting collection reflected aspects of the trees’ habitats, inhabitants, habits, lineage, life history, as well as some personal memories.
While some people came for a short drop-in session, others stayed all morning!
Look out for activities on BIODIVERSITY in 2010
